Some time ago we decided that our tiny guest room upstairs can be available for both professional and personal reasons alike. Read more about that here. We only ask a small favour in return: a small and personal first impression of the neighbourhood, in relation to our guests’ experiences with projects such as KijkRuimte.

Our fourth guest was Laura Turlaja from Latvia. During her stay in KijkRuimte she was also an intern at Sica. Sica is an organization that stimulates cultural colleboration and collects information from al the usefull international organisations that can make an international project work. Find more about Sica here.

For almost four weeks was Laura our guest. She left us with a selfmade Amsterdam Noord calendar and a book called They wouldn’t notice. Latvian Contemporary art and the international context. The calendar Laura made is based on reactions she got from people when telling them she was staying in North. The calender shows the perspective and the lack of knowledge about this part of the city from people living outside of North. When you think about it, the calendar is in some way related to the book Laura left us. Mabye they wouldn’t notice North… What do you think?
